Hi,

I've got the following setup:

Arcam FMJ - A19

KEF LS50

Rega RP3

Apple TV + iMac

NAS, Synology

Arcam A19 obviously does not have DAC or analogue inputs so I'm considering 2 possible option to enhance my system:

1. Arcam irDAC

2. Cambridge Audio Stream Magic 6 v2

Which would be a better option in terms of usability / audio quality?

Thanks,

Patrik

It depends. If you can control your music from your nas by any means convenient to you, then I would recommend the Irdac. I have the previous version of the Rdac and think its very good. Since you have the A19 it will probably match sound wise.

on the other hand, from my own experience the Rdac with mac mini could only be used with the tv screen on. After half a year that was slowly becoming just too much hassle. Therefor personally I would go for a streamer with priority nr 1 a good user interface.

Hi

Ive tryed both, The Stream Magic V2 by a huge margin! Took the Irdac straight back made very little differance.

The CA CXN, SM 6 replacement is coming very shortly for £699 colour screen, Airplay, same mother board as the SM 6 with improved analouge stage. I have one on order. I would think RS would reduce the SM6 further very shortly to less than the reduced £599.
