hi

i was planning to buy a media player with internal hdd, or without, doesn't matter actualy

my biggest factor is audio quality, that's why i chose the dune hd smart d1. BUT i didn't consider a dac after it.

now i'v seen a dac that i realy like, and i was wondering, does it still matter what the audio quality of the the media player is going to be? or like this:

A: good sounding media player to amp

B: avarage media player to dac (by optical if it's the best way) to amp

this media player would be something simpel like the wd live or lacielacinema hd with or without internal hdd

what do you suggest?

ps. the highest audio quality would be uncompressed flac files ripped from cd's

nice, but theu are so ugly imo.

but the key question is, does it matter what chipset or device i use if i connect a DAC after it by optical?

importance is ound, and here are my few choises.

boxee box, lacie lacinema connect, dune smatr d1, popcorn hour 200 or 210, wd

Ugly???? The wd tv live???? Its a small box! You do need a tv to show video, photos or tracks since it has no display. Vga porn???? Is this thread for real?
Budget?

oh , i'm so sorry for the mistype. vga port

and i was thinking about lacie lacinema mini hd connect, which has a component video out. and you can go from component to vga or dvi.

i was looking at the lacie lacinema hd mini connect , which has a component out. good reviews, good ui and a great product. i'v chose this because i only going to use the device for music, where i can hook up a cheap monitor.

maybe later upgrade to a tv.

Hi

I use an external DAC through Toslink to connect my Dune Smart B! to play back HD FLAC files and the sound is super. Worth the expense!
