I don;t know whether to go for a HiFi Racks Podium or a Custom Design Milan rack. I have a hifi racks at the moment which is superb sonically, but I prefer the looks of the Milan. Anyone got any thoughts?

As you know, I have a hifi racks rack but I would go with the Milan - very nice indeed and I don't think it would make any difference sonically. I know you experienced gains when you first got your latest rack but that might have been that it was just very well made, unlike your set up before. The Milan one looks solid too.

Hmmm. The HiFiracks one has received very good reviews from several sources recently, better than the CDM, but I think the latter looks a million dollars especially in cherry which would match my speakers nicely. It's also discounted by £40 in places at the moment which helps.
I have a HIFI Racks AV rack. I bought it because I couldnt buy anything standard from anywhere that would accomodate my TV, my centre speaker and my amp and Bradley was a very nice chap who built it all to my own measurements. Having said that I love it and lots of people have complemented me on how nice it looks (and it matches my light oak speakers perfectly).
However if you like the look of the milan then I'd go for that, especially if it matches your kit and you think it looks better. I can't imagine it making any difference to the sonics, whichever one you go for.

Only yesterday I was in my local shop asking about racks - in case my coming upgrade doesn't fit my current Stands Unique stand.
They had a Custom Design Milan in Walnut and it looked lovely, so I will get one for my new kit if I need to, which seems likely at present.
Apparently the manufacturer knows the Moon Pre/Power I'm to get and makes a custom size to fit them - so assume he could make them to fit anything you're after if standard size is a problem.
