Hi Guys

I am trying to make a wireless home system using the QA2020i (heard them at the local hifi store and the sound was fantastic when coupled to an new Denon PMA-520AE A that was for GBP183).

I would use the following to make a bluetooth streaming system that I would use for music and movies from my laptop and phone and other bluetooth devices.

1. Bluetooth audio adapter with aptx

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LAZ6RTW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=VULIHY27ETM&coliid=I1P1SVVNZ4QGBS&psc=1

2. QA 2020i

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Q-Acoustics-Q2020i-Wal-Pr/dp/B006SYZEBW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433862055&sr=8-1&keywords=2020i

I am looking for a budger amp. There is a second hand Denon PMA-520AE on amaonz for GBP 83. Any suggestions on that ?

Do you think there is a cheaper option to get the same system ? I would like to keep the AMP price below 90 GBP and the speaker price below 135 GBP. I am not an audiophile as such but i would still like a decent system for a room size 5mx 5mx 3m.

Thanks a lot !

My suggestion is to stop wasting your local hifi store's time. If you are going to get them to do all the work and auditioning, at least have the decency to buy from them. By all means quote the prices from Amazon and give them a chance to price match. If they are a lot more expensive, then shop from amazon with my good wishes. However, the store is doing all the work, so give them a chance first.

My second suggestion is to get the store to install the system for you to set it up properly. Your room will have different dynamics to the store, so will need tweaking. The forum is filled with people who said the hifi was brilliant in the shop and not so good at home. A free installation is well worth the money!!!

Please dont jump to conclusions. I dont think I am wasting their time ! I am infact going to buy the speakers from them since they are priced well. The link is only to show what model as the store does not have any weblinks. They do not have bluetooth audio adapters. And the amplifier they have are not second hand and even the first hand ones are way overpriced than amazon (nearly 1.5 times in some cases)

Thanks for the judgemental response. I was expecting more of a technical feeedback than a lesson on morals on internet buying.

Looks like a good set up. Cambridge amps in that price would also be worth considering. A5, or 540 or 640 azur.

Thanks a lot, Radiorog ! Am looking into those amps you suggested.

1. Is there any mini-amp suitable for such speakers (similar size like a Lepy 2014 or so; sorry for my ignorance if mini amplifiers are too small for such speakers) so as to avoid using up too much space.

(e.g: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00NAUDZOK?psc=1)

2. Can anyone also comment on the quality of Audio ? I am aware the Bluetooth compresses the data a lot and hence its hard to get anything close to CD quality output. What I am trying to ask is I do not want to purchse a system that is very good but will be an overkill if I intend to play mostly streaming music espicially on bluetooth.

3. The Wharfedale DS1 Wireless Bluetooth Desk Speakers basically do what I am trying to do here but with inbuilt amp and bluetooth aptx. However the speakers are smaller and do not seem to have the same quality output as the QA2020i.

or

Pioneer X-HM21BTD-K FM/AM/CD/DAB+ Bluetooth USB Micro System

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pioneer-X-HM21BTD-K-Bluetooth-Micro-System/dp/B00JRWTQRU/ref=sr_1_2?s=receiver-speakers&ie=UTF8&qid=1433947179&sr=1-2&keywords=hi+fi+system+bluetooth

Anmy experience with such systems ?

I cant comment on mini systems driving thise speakers, they could be fine tho. Regarding sound quality of bluetooth,it is actually prrtty good, although cd is better...but maybe only 5% better.that 5 % noticeable,if you are a stickler for detail, which most of us here are. I have a £1000 amplifier and I use bluetooth as much as any othrr source, and it sounds superb.
