Corner clouding on Sony KDL-46WE5

Dear All,

I have recently bought a KDL-46WE5 and have immediately noticed that when displaying dark scenes there is some light coming from the 4 corners of the screen. It fades to black going to the center of the screen and disappears 4-5 inches from the corner, still it is very noticeable.

I haven't properly calibrated the TV yet (I am no expert either) but setting the backlight to the minimum value didn't help much.

I can't believe that such an expensive set comes with this kind of defects.

Any idea?

Clouding issues in large screen LCDs and in particular some recent Sony sets are nothing new. Do a google and search the TV forum for more details. In the end, if your screen is faulty and you're unhappy, take it back and get a replacement. That's what you would do with any other faulty product, so a TV is no different.
