With a analogue dock you still need decent cables. Main advantage of a dock is that it will charge your iPod/iPad while connected. Either way you will still be using the DAC inside the iPod/iPad.

I decided on the russ Andrews GQ 24 I'm connecting my system through the mini jack as it's better for me, I also have a portable dab radio which has a 3.5 mm input jack/aux although I wouldn't get a great benefit in sound through the radio it's still handy to have the option great item! And a great price

The GQ 24 is an excellent LOD.

Tested out the new russ andrews GQ 24 cable had it connected to a iPhone 4 to dab radio. And the results truly impressive real sound who would of guessed a tiny cable could do soooo much. I was a bit spetical about not being able to charge it whilst it's plugged in, but so far no problems. In my opinion unless you want to play music 24/7 this is as good as it gets!

it's a stunningly good bit of stuff. I replaced an old Belkin LOD that cost me £25 with the GQ-24, and was blown away by the difference.
