Hey all, I'm sure this is daft question and has probably been asked before so apologies on both counts.
I'm about to buy a pioneer DCS 580 home cinema DVD player. But before I do I want to make sure my connections are going to give me the best results from my set-up. Assuming HDMI is the best way to connect everything together. I currently have a Sky HD box connected to a Pioneer plasma via HDMI (input 3). My TV only has one HDMI port. And the current dvd/home cinema connected via scart. auto switching works well but I was hoping to connect the HDMI output from the new DCS 580 to to the TV to allow upscaling etc. but where do i then connect HDMI Sky HD output ? Am I correct in thinking I could use a HDMI switcher to connect both sources to a single input in to the plasma ? My logic is telling me that if I take this approach there will be no audio from Sky HD box as it does not go through the dvd/home cinema unit ? am i correct ? If so is the solution to simply connect a scart lead between the Sky box & the dvd unit ? Or am I just over complicating things ? Oh not sure it it's relevant but I have no speakers connected to the TV.
I was expecting the dvd/home cinema unit to allow multiple HDMI inputs (or at least one input feed from a HDMI switch) with one single output which is connected to the TV. But none of home cinema in a box solutions offers this.
Thanks, Hopefully i've made some kind of sense.
