Hey all

After a decorating frenzy, I could not find the basic mains lead for the Concept. After a week of frustration and the usual frenzy which caused the rest of the household to disappear I decided that I would have to look at buying a replacement. Yeah........ All I could find were specialist upgrades costing around £300, which of course is not happening. So I then went to the Clearaudio site. Emailed them politely asking whether they had a replacement. basic standard mains lead for etc etc... Over a week later, I received a standard email stating that because they were flooded with enquiries it would take a few days to get back to me. They haven't.

Surely it cannot be so difficult to get hold of a basic bloody mains lead can it?? Please chaps, I am fed up without vinyl input!

Hope you can help me.

Have you tried the dealer you bought it from?

Just downloaded the instructions and it looks like it needs a power brick (Transformer built into a plug) rather than a simple mains lead, so have a look round for this, rather than looking for just a mains lead.

(DO NOT connect a mains lead directly into the turntable)

Hope this helps

There is no reason why they shouldn't be able to sell you a PSU for you turntable. If they persist in being naff, then ask them for the exact specs and connector size so you can get something similar from fleabay. We support all our old turntables and have PSU's for everything going back to the 0.5 etc, there is no reason any manufacturer shouldn't be able to do something similar.

EQUIPMENT MAINS WORKING SETTING

Your Clearaudio product has been prepared to comply with the household power and safety

requirements that exist in your area. This product can be connected to INPUT: 100 V – 240 V

~/ 50 – 60 Hz / 150 mA; OUTPUT: 12 V= / 450 mA

From the user manual. Pop into Maplins or similar. Just make sure the polarity is correct - this would be visible on the socket

Seems to be a 12V DC Linear PSU. I would have thought you can buy those fairly cheaply. Pretty sure many external hard drives use them. Farnell's sell them for about £6, but check the plug is right for your turntable.

Having looked at the image of the Clearaudio one, its looks the same.

Maplins seem to have some around £10.

First of all, apologies for the delay in replying.

Secondly thank you so much to all of you for taking the time to help me out. Looks like Maplin may be my next stop!

I suspect that as soon as the new version arrives, the original will make a reappearance.... Thanks all!
