just ordered one 🙂 I'll let You know how it works .

Yes, use that myself. The 'magic' cleaner blocks come in many guises and are very cheap, just one will last for ages. I just cut a small piece off and glue it on a coin. You need to be a little careful with it but it works fine.

In my experience the white 'Blu Tack' works better. 🙂

??? not tried 'white Blu Tack' Al-ears . . . probably because I dont have any. I did try it as a fixing (very small pea size) for speakers, same as I tried a black version, neither worked very well in the speaker fixing roll . . . :?

We've had that stuff in the cupboard for ages. It's almost essential when you have three small boys... Never thought of using it to clean my stylus. May have to give it a go (pre and Post comparison)...

For a recently divorced bloke such as myself who now has to get his own shopping and cleaning products! what is the uk brand known as?

Edit. Found these in ebay for 2quid?

4 x Magic Sponge Melamine Foam Stain Remover Eraser

Looks like someone has turned this into a product http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Magic-Stylus-Cleaner-record-turntable-cleaner-ortofon-/271317808666?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Vinyl_Record_Cleaning&hash=item3f2bcd361a

cut a bit off, stick it on a coin or similar solid object, place under the elevated tonearm/cartridge then lower the arm into the sponge two or three times.

Regards

yeah I know how to clean it - but actually HOW deos it clean it 🙂

Seen a few posts on this stuff on various forums and Youtube, they also suggest brushing the stylus off after dipping into the sponge to remove any particles that have broken off from the sponge that might be sticking to the stylus.

More detail here http://www.high-endaudio.com/Magic.html

They are talking about an American product when they talk about the blue layer..... not sure if it exists like that here I've only seen the white stuff in pound shops and on e-bay.

As well as my Ortofon stylus brush, I also use one of these Vinyl Passion Dust Busters, it seems to do the trick nicely.
