OK got the silver screen today, and even better bargain that I'd thought - I bought it at under £5 a metre to start with, and ordered 8m. I got 9 so that was useful for making up a set of jumpers. I'm using them with bare ends straight into the LF terminal of the Spennies, and the K2 tightened up by hand as much as I can. Straight out of the box there is a noticeable difference compared to the silver high breed cbales I was using (and they were a big improvement over the QED anniversary that I was using). I was surprised at how small the diametr of the core is but then it works so who cares. I'm not so sure abot this cabe burning stuff, as I have never noticed it with ICs, certainly not in the same dramatic way that speakers and the components do anyway.
I'm only 3/4 through listening to Slash's new CD and there is much greater separation, with a more extended open top end, no bad thing with the K2/S6e pairing which is far from coarse. That I had hoped for, but the biggest surprise is to the upper bass / lower mid. Despite liestening at neighbour friendly levels, drum fills on the tom toms have real thud to them, a real punch. It's so easy to hear whether the drummer is holding back a little or smashing the proverbial out of his kit, and all whilst the rest of the band is playing around them. The separation and soundstaging is now pretty awesome. Can't wait till the neighbours are out and when I move house again! Still waiting for the NEATS to arrive, next change will be to try swapping the SHB ICs for the chords. cobras.
