Choosing speakers for amplifier!

Hello fellow Hi-Fi-ists! I am here to ask for your kind help!

I recently built myself my first tube amplifier, which provides me 25 Watts of tube power! After finishing it, I decided to buy some Hi-Fi speakers to finish my collection, but I am afraid making a decision.

I have been watching the Monitor Audio Bronze 2, but at these wattages, it is really below its recommended amplification.

If I would buy them, would they sound good with only 25 watts too? Or should I buy a lower minimum watted speaker? If so, please let me know some of those brands!

Thanks for the replies!

Welcome to the forum, Sebestyén!

You've built your own amp? I'd like to hear a little more about that project! Feel free to share, maybe in a new thread.

As for the Bronze 2s, I think a 25 Wpc valve amp should not have too much of a problem with these 90 dB/Wm, 8 Ohm speakers. Unless you want ear-splitting levels, you'll be fine. Can you take your amp to a hifi-shop to try the combo? Or try the speakers at home, even better...

What other brands do you have access to?

Focal and Cabasse seem to have above average efficiency. I would check them out. Focal will be more affordable than Cabasse price wise.

Audio Note speakers are designed to be used with valve amps. The AX One is available at €495 per pair (don't know the UK price -- where are you based btw, Sebestyén?). The AZ One, entry level floorstander, has a better sensitivity and deeper bass. Not sure about the price -- more expensive, obviously.
