Hello, I continue my quest to try to obtain good music performance from my new AV receiver A2010. In general it is acceptable but, in some songs, it has too much power and passion and it just losses control. Ex. songs like "begging" or "Rihanna - beautiful girl in the world" sound really stressed and the bass is totally out of control.

Objectives - Low frequency - Reduce the body and power without loosing completely the musicallity. I believe that the majore issue is that it is focussed around the 8Hz instead of lower frequencies. In general there is too much bass. High frequency - increase clarity, transparency and spaciousness.

I have started to play around with the 7band YPAO settings and I have set up as follows for all speakers except sub (I do not remember exactly the band figures but just as an example) :

Band 1 - 60 hz; +3db

Band 2 - 140 hz; 0db

Band 3 - 700 hz; -0,5db

Band 4 - 1000hz; - 2db

Band 5 - 1,6khz; -0,5db

Band 6 - 4khz; +2db

Band 7 - 16khz; +3db

In the case of the subwoofer I still have not made any changes.

The program allows to select the frequency that you want to apply to each banc (ex. if you want to change the 1st band from 60hz to say 40hz and apply the changes there). It also allows to determine a "Q" factor which I suppose that it determines the widening effect of the settings to the near by frequencies. This I have not touched because I am not sure that I undestand it correctly.

Questions:

Which are the best frequencies that I should be using to achieve the objectives above?

How should I use the "Q" factor.

How should I configure the subwoofer eq, which frequency and value?
