Hi

I want to install a sound system to a new kitchen, not after the best acoustics money can buy, it's a kitchen with usual background noise, not to mention the kids!! :) Just wondered if any type of speaker wire will suffice of is it a specialised type for speakers of this nature? I was going to get mid range oxygen free wire. There will be 4, I presume an independent wire to each speaker is required?

thx

Once you start putting cables in the ceiling, especially in the kitchen, you need cables that meet safety regs with the appropriate fire ratings. QED Silverline 5 Custom Installation Speaker Cable, for example would fit the bill. Yes, a wire to each will be required.

Russ Andrews sell Kimber installation cable in two sizes.I use the thicker Kwik 12 as my main speaker cable and it is excellent. The thinner Kwik 16 is £4 per metre and should suit ceiling speakers as well as being suitable fro the job.
