Cd Player and Amplifer Opinion Please

At present I have a Meridian 507 CD player, 551 Amplifier and Proac Studio 150 speakers. I fancy changing the cd player and amplifier to Primare I30 and CD31. Am I going to get a significant improvement/change in quality? Musical taste is varied, ranges from rock to folk to country.

I think this is a bit of a sideways step rather than an upgrade. It all depends on how you like your music, involving, upfront or hours of easy listening and warmth.

Personally I would at the very least borrow some from a dealer for a few days, and probably wouldn't even consider it until I could afford to perhaps try a Leema combo, or something similar that would be a significant improvement.

I've heard the Leema pairing and much prefer my Primare set up.

This was the general feeling at the hi-fi club I go to.
