Can you get these in any old hi-fi shop, or are they a bit harder to come buy? I could use over-long screws, but they don't exactly look nice do they? I've just built a natty little stand for the left-hand front speaker in the home cinema setup (the front right being on a shelf in the TV cabinet/unit/monstrosity thing), and the only thing it needs is a set of spikes. I'll add the spikes, then swap the top plate for some meaty MDF for better damping, and that should be that. But whre d'ya get the spikes from.

Hi

A related query: living in a flat, I have put acoustic underlay under my carpet. The underlay is about 10mm thick, so even allowing for a bit of squashing when I press on the speakers I suspect the spikes are not actually connecting with the floorboards:

Anyone know where you can get extra long spikes. Am planning to replace my floorstanders with standmounts on Partington super-dreadnoughts.

Thought they might've been harder to come by than that. Cheers peeps.

And Yellow Kid, if I find any longer spikes whilst I'm looking, I'll let you know.
