Hi All

I have recently cancelled my Sky+ subscription due to overgrown trees blocking the receiver. It is too expensive to get the trees pollarded. I am now watching 5 channels through the ariel. Until, I get a new TV (Sony KDL40V4000) in few months, is there a way to use my old Sky box as a Freeview receiver since I don't want to spend money on buying a free standing  set top box?

Thank you very much

You can buy a freeview card from sky for £20, not the full range of fta channels like you get through the aerial though sky want a contract for that....

I have one spare for a good price if you want to drop me a message

Hi BigChris, Are you getting confuddled with freesat?

As I understand it, Freeview is a terrestrial service so I don't think it's available through a satellite dish, please correct me if I'm wrong. You can get a £20 card from Sky to watch freesat on a Sky decoder box.

err....aren't we missing something here:

'....due to overgrown trees blocking the receiver......'

How do you expect to receive any channels if the trees are blocking reception??

If you are asking whether the Sky+ box can receive freeview via a regular aerial then the answer is no.
