I don't know much about techy stuff so please excuse me - ahem. I have a new Dell laptop which I would like to use to listen to digital radio, mp3s and CDs on but the inbuilt speakers are just cr*p! I don't have room for or want pc speakers with wires and I have an old but great set of stereo speakers & set of NAD seperates gathering dust. Is there a way I can wirelessly connect my pc to my existing stereo please?

Any comments or suggestions in layman's terms

I don't think so as you'd need something in the amp and speaker circuitry which would accommodate a wireless link with your PC - Bluetooth etc. There may be something you can purchase that might connect to your amp but more knowledgeable heads round here will come up with the goods on that one!

The Airport Express works through iTunes so as long as you have iTunes installed on your PC, anything you can play through iTunes can be sent wirelessly to your amp (which includes CDs and internet radio). To further improve the sound quality, you can hook the Airport Express unit into a separate DAC (like the Beresford one) via an optical cable and then the DAC hooks into your amp via standard RCA phono cables.
There are other wireless solutions out there (Squeezebox and Sonos being two that spring to mind), but I think most of them are more expensive.
Have a search through the Wi-Fi forum as there's plenty of posts on all these in there.

Squeezebox Duet. The controller is fab.
Or the Squeezebox classic is quite cheap these days, and apparently better out of the box sound.
