Can all integrated amps combine with cd players to play mp3 and wma files from a cd??

I have some (mainly for the car) mp3s downloaded on to cd. When a cd player's spec says that it plays cd, cd-r, cd-rw but not mp3 or wma, does that mean it doesn't read them from a cd? Is this also the case for amps?

the amp only reproduces the info sent to it. if the CD cant send anything to the amp then.......

if the cd player says it cant read then then it cant read them...

and you may actually damage the player tring to do so.

Amp not a problem. CD player must have MP3/WMA capability - otherwise at best it will simply not play the disc or at worst will send nasty noises through the amp as it tries to do so.

thanks, so Pioneer PD-D6-J or Marantz CD6002 with the Creek Evo amp will play mpe or wma cds?
