Cambridge Audio 640A and C V1. Want to upgrade speakers - Please help!

Hello All

I have the following setup:

-Cambridge Audio 640C V1

-Cambridge Audio 640A V1

-Eltax Liberty 5+ Floorstanders

-Chord Carnival Silverscreen bi-wired speaker cable

-Ixos interconnect

I feel the speakers are a weak point of this system but, as it's quite an old pairing of amp and cd player, I'm struggling to come up with a shortlist of speakers to try out. I'm currently thinking about B&W 684s but these may be overkill for the overall cost of the system. Musical taste? Pretty much anything.

Any suggestions? Floorstanders preferred.

But, for a budget amp + cdp like the 640 v1, a bookshelf would be a great match. Some are,

1. MS Aviano 1/2
2. Diamond 9.1/9.2/10.1
3. MA BR2

I am thinking of upgrading the amp and cd player too in a couple of years so maybe it would be a good idea to go for speakers with upgrade potential.

Does anyone have a view as to whether the B&W 684s would pair well with the CA setup in the meantime?
