I have just taken my first tentative step into the world of HD TV, having had my existing CRT for sixteen years, and bought a Pioneer 5090. This has delivered some excellent Sky SD and DVD via scart connections. My next purchase is going to be a Blue Ray Player which, if Santa is attentive, will be the Denon 2500BT! In the mean time I thought I would connect the Toshiba DVD player via the HDMI connection and bought the award winning Van den Hul Flat. Naively I thought all that would be necessary was to make the connection. But no. As a last resort I consulted the 'Operating Instructions' which required the HDMI connection to be activated. Even following the instructions I failed to get the player to work so resorted back to the scart connection. Now this would not work and to compound matters the Sky box is not recognised either. The upshot is that currently I own an award winning television that I cannot get a picture or sound on from any source! It be all too complicated for I!
I know I always have difficulties with things technical but there must be someone else out there who has had steam coming out of their ears after expecting that the 'Operating Instructions' would be both comprehensive and comprehensible! Does anyone know what I have to do to recover sound and vision?
