Cables/interconnect for this system

Hi,
When looking at the reviews of cables/interconnects I often see comments such as “Worth the money if the system is capable” etc. I am not entirely sure where the correlation lies between system and connection capability.

What would you recommend for the following system?

Amp: Cyrus 8XPd QX
Speakers: Spendor A5 ( or similar )
Main Source: Squeezebox Classic (Streaming Lossless Music)

The hi-fi dealer stocks Atlas, Furutech, QED and True-Colours Connections.

Would a combination of the
QED Revelation Speaker Cable £15 and QED Qunex SR75 Coaxial £60 work well?

I'm probably in a minority of one but don't spend loads of cash on interconnects.

Atlas Equator (£50) and QED performance coaxial (£30) will be good enough.

I've not done much comparison on speaker cable but again don't spend a lot without having a good listen. You can get highly recommended QED cable for £6 / metre. If you spend £12 / metre it definitely wont sound twice as good and you might not hear any difference at all.

interconnects:

Silver High Breed Metaphor LE 0,5m = £16 (ebay item 170377216618 )

Speaker cables: van den hul (search for 2nd hand on ebay)

works fine for me (I dont have the metaphor, but have the silver high breed Coherence LE Interconnects) ... may sound different on your setup
