What is the best cable between the Roksan k2 Amp and Roksan 2 cds?

I have Focal JM lab Cobalt 816 S loudspeakers.

I have missed the what's hifi magazine in may 2009 for this test.

Thanks

Emile

Couple of questions.

Budget?

What are you using at present?

What if anything do you feel you would like to try and change about the sound?? Is it too bright for example.

Think it goes with pretty much everything. Mine is getting sent back to Chord next week to be converted from 2RCA ->2RCA into 2RCA->5pin din

Find the table on the internet that tells you the thickness of copper required vs. the distance between your amp and speakers. By and large, all you need is QED 76 strand, or Van Damme like the professionals use. You can then save pots of ££ and buy music instead.

I expect that wasn't the answer you wanted.....

EDIT

Just realised you were talking about interconnects. Blue Jeans LC-1 will do you fine. Don't get sucked in to big ££.

Hi,

I use the Van Den Hul D102-III Hybrid at the moment, about £100 ish of 1.0m.

Going to give the clearer audio silver line a go soon though - not that there's anything standing out as wrong with the van den hul, but clearer audio offer a 60 day money back guaruntee (as only sell online, so thats the ony way to demo), so does no harm to see if I was missing out on some detail etc... (when i auditioned new speakers, and bought some PMC GB1i, to replace some old AE309's i noticed a massive diference in the detail, especially treble and midrange - so the only way is to try stuff out and see what you think).

Hope thats helpfull,

Dan.

Cable Lover, are you sure you're on the right forum? This isn't the one that loves Gloucester Old Spots at all costs...

Cable Lover, I have 4 lengths of 6mm copper strand hooked up to my speakers in the kitchen which are just about to be removed, gold bananas too. these are nowhere near as good as even QED Silver Anniversary XT I'm afraid. Nowhere near the same amount of detail.

To the OP it is well worth investing in cables, even if you get one second hand off fleabay it will be a vast improvement over the basic cables supplied.

If you want to listen to Cable Lover who obviously knows far more about hifi than all the experts from all the magazines (not just WHF), then you can, but you will be missing a trick. A cable can fine-tune a system nicely. If you want a bit more bass go for something like the Chord Chameleon Silver Plus, if you want something a little more detailed with a higher frequency balance then a Nordost Blue Heaven. Or why don;t you try the WHF award winning Atlas Equator for less than £50 new?

Hi Emile.....I'm thinking of a Roksan kandy k2 amp + cdp set-up too. Either that or a Naim XS set-up. Will be giving them a listen next month. Meanwhile I've ordered an Atlas Equator Superior online from hificable.co.uk in advance though I have no idea how it will sound

Btw....can you share what you like about the Roksan kandy K2 amp and cdp set-up?
