Hello guys!!

I have been checking this website and forums for a while already, but now i’ve come to the point where i got a bunch of questions i can’t find the answers for ( maybe i am overlooking them :p ) Anyway since i am finaly moving from mum’s basement to a own house i need some new quality components ( within my budget and available in the Netherlands )

I was thinking of the folowwing components

TV - Samsung UE46ES8000 ( i know it is the 2012 model but it is quite cheap in the Netherlands ).

AVR – Yamaha RX-V673 ( product of the year 2012 ).

Speakers - Wharfdale DX-1HCP They seem to be quite an amazing speakerset for the price, and i like the looks wich is just a minor detail but important to me :)

- I will be using my Playstation 3 ( Playstation 4 or XBOX ONE in the future ) for watching blueray movies.

- The tv will be connected trough the interactive HD recorder from my cable supplier.

- Movies downloaded ( legal in the Netherlands so….:p ) i will be playing from a usb stick in my tv ( or is it better to do that from the AVR?

- I will be using a ASUS RT-N66U router.

So the questions are,

1. Is this a okey setup, should i change one of those components to something else? Why is that and what do u recommend?

2.So connecting this setup is as follows;

- Playstation 3 to the AVR

- Interactive HD recorder to the AVR

- AVR to the TV ( Audio return channel hdmi port )

- And AVR to the speakers ofcourse

Is this right or am i making a mistake here?

3. If i connect everything like this, will everything work, including sound from my 5.1 set when i play a movie from my tv trough USB?

4. And if i also want a NAS/mediaplayer like the QNAP TS-269 Pro Will this work fine in this ‘’network’’?

5. I also got the feeling im getting quite some remotes here, is there something we can do about that?:)

Thanks in advance, i really appreciate any help!

P.S. Sorry for my english it is quite rusty havent been speaking it for a while:p

Most of your money should be spent on a good speaker system. 400 on speakers and 500 on the receiver doesn't sound quite right. A good start would be a 2:1 to a 3:1 ratio. In other words look for speakers twice as expensive and a cheaper receiver.

Not sure about point 3. I would guess no. You would have to use a digital output from your TV to the receiver, which will not work with all audio formats, or a dedicated player, like Dune / Popcorn / Med8er which would count as another HDMI input to your receiver.

Some receivers come with "intelligent" remote controls capable of learning codes for other hardware. The alternative would be a Logitech Harmony. Not a perfect solution but usable.
