love the mag, but after a lot of reading and searching i found lots of speakers which were not featured in your buyers guide. cant understand why for example focal, boston acoustics and many other excelent brands are left out. fair enough if you havent got the time or resources to review them but you could list them. any how, hope you consider my suggestion. thanks for listening....

yes, you are right...which is obvious....but what do you think about my opinion? could you imagine a complete list of all products? please dont ever give me another obvious answer...it flexes me 🙂

I've done the maths on the resources needed - if you don't mind this website going subscription only and/or the magazine costing around £10, we'll do it

But seriously.... we have considered/are considering an expanded guide online at some future stage, though it's not practical as part of the monthly magazine.

A complete list of products would be sooooo long it'd have to be like the Yellow Pages and then we would complain that we were buying the same 80% content every month. Sorry if that's an obvious answer... happy flexing

The long and short of it is that we only have a set amount of pages for the Buyer's Guide each month - normally around 36. Bearing in mind that we have an average of 40 new products coming in each time, it's hard enough to make room without deleting valid products, never mind listing everything else.

It is frustrating - to help counter it we've set a 5 year limit on products, although obviously, if they're discontinued long before that, they go automatically.

As Clare said, it's just not feasible - although occasionally we can help with old reviews; I've still got access to a database with 15 years worth of products and it's possible sometimes to assist with queries. It's more the exception than the rule though.

Sorry for a late reply on this - I've only just seen it! Busy creating Buyer's Guides don't you know...!

Have you stopped flexing yet by the way? I used to have a 1970s copy of Lou Reed's Transformer on flexible vinyl - true genius, you could flex it nearly 180 degrees and it'd still re-shape and play fine afterwards!

Hi,

One thing I don't get on the 'Best Buys' page 24 of the current issue:

There's recommendations for all manner of systems and at the bottom of the page you show a section 'Complete Your Home Cinema System'. In this section are recommendations for full size speakers - the recommendations are the same set of speakers in the 'Home Cinema Systems' section and seems to be pointless as you're recommending these speakers twice. Nothing else in this section is replicated above. An alternate to the speakers mentioned would be recommendations for audio cable or HDMI cables?

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.
