I have to move my music room which is less than ideal right now at 12.5 X10.5 with nothing in it but my chair. Iam building a room in the basement but am restricted to wall to wall measurements of 17.5 feet wide and 12.4 feet deep and 8.5 ceilings. Im going to be placing my speakers on the long wall tucking my equipment behind my speakers which wont be a problem for single racks and my Proac's are side ported. Wont be tight against any speaker just behind and to the side.
To my question, what recommendations would you advise things to do or not to do, insulate the ceilings etc. Some how vault the ceiling just slightly type of drywall. Does anyone think this is going to big enough for my set up. Parasound Pre-Power and Proac D28's. I figure two feet out from back wall and my chair 1.5 feet away leaves me a honest 8.5 feet away. I was thinking the other way but 12 feet now I would only have the speakers spread 6 feet apart inside to inside speaker keeping them two feet away from the side walls.
