Budget turntable

Hi, i'm looking for a turntable for less than £100.00 which would work well with the Rotel RA-04, QED Silver Anniversary XT speaker cable and Monitor Audio BR2 speakers and wondered if you had any suggestions. Thank you

Unless you pick up a bargain second-hand (in which case you'd probably need a new cartridge anyway, so defeating the object) we really wouldn't recommend a sub-£100 turntable -everything we've heard under three figures has been woeful, and certainly no match for your set-up.

The good news is that you don't have to spend much more - Pro-ject's new Genie (£125) or Debut (£130) decks are excellent for the money, and come with everything you need.

The Debut is mighty fine and you can get one for £120 if you shop around.

superfi was doing a deal recently on a goldring gr2 with a 1012 cartridge for £160.00.seriously good deck for the money.
