Hi everyone. I've recently purchased a Sony DVD DVP-S7700 and an old Technics stereo integrated amplifier SU-V4X from the 80s and was wondering whether anyone could recommend me a pair of budget bookshelf speakers that I could buy new/used/for cheap on ebay (under 100 quid)? I'm new to all this and not sure where to start so any help would be greatly appreciated!

p.s. Would including a sub be beneficial?

Richer Sounds have a pair of Tannoy F1 Customs for £99 brand new - an absolute bargain that should really hit the spot...and I reckon you should be fine without a sub as well...

Also cheap as chips at Richer Sounds, Eltax Monitor III. Lots of speaker for not much money.

Personally with £100 I would go 2nd hand with some B&W 603s, especially given your partnering equipment. Really don't get a sub unless you intend to hook up a DVD player and watch Pearl Harbour every night. It's not necessary, nor will it improve the quality of sound.

Watching Pearl Harbour every night is definitely not necessary

Hmm, thanks for the suggestions. I'm gonna stick with ebay I think. Could I get some opinions on sub 250 speakers this time round? I'm feeling flush!
