BT Homehub (not new curved version) problem

Should both Ethernet ports work?

Only one works. Tried different leads and different things plugged in (BT Vision & BDP).

Why would it have 2 ports otherwise?

Yes, both ports should work. Why don't you contact BT & get the hub replaced? Mine had a problem last month after 2 years of use & BT replaced it free of charge.

As bigboss says, both ports should work. I had one of the originals and now have the Homehub 2. BT were quite happy to give me the new model and it saved me buying a switch or new router as the HH2 has 4 ethernet ports.

I really like the HH2, though I may be in the minority there...

Sounds like I need a new hub then. I'll call BT in the week.

Yup, I had a problem with the new curvy version and they sent me a replacement free of charge the next day.
