I posted this elsewhere - but it might get overlooked. This forum seems more appropriate.
I have a Bravia KDL-40v3000 and just purchased a BDV-E830. I can't play TV audio through the BDV sound system via an HDMI cable so I assume the Bravia HDMI port is not ARC-compliant. But maybe I missed something in the set up. Other functionality seems to be in place. I have read the manuals and forums. Some people have trouble with the same issue.
Does this mean I need a digital optical audio lead?
Is there a work-around? I live in a remote village in northern Spain, hours from the nearest source of such equipment.
