Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar - subwoofer upgrade

I've just changed my system from a Denon 3400 amp and 25 year old Bose acoustimass 15 5.1 system to a Bose smart ultra soundbar. I've had it a couple of weeks now and am getting used to it. I'm going to give it a couple more weeks to get used to the change in sound, but it does seem a little lightyweight in the bottom end. Does anybody have one and have they added the 700 (or 500) subs to their systems and would they recommend

I know you've been with Bose for a long time. Does it have to be Bose, because you can get much better soundbars for the price?

You can connect two of them if you really want. The only way to find out is to try it for yourself. Hi-fi is just like haircuts; what's great for one person could be totally unsuitable for someone else. Similarly, most people on here will tell you what is best for them, not what is best for you. Try to find a retailler who will allow you a home trial would be perfect. If you buy direct from Bose, you have 90 days to return the items if you don't like them.
