bluray plunge

i am looking for a bluray player to replace my toshiba hd xe1 i am toying with the panasonic bd30 but would like to know if the picture quality would match my tosh or should i go for the pioneer lx70a - 71a when available i am not interested in profile 1- 1.1- 2.0 just picture quality

As it sounds like you're prepared to wait a little, i'd do just that - several key new players due out in next couple of months, including the Panasonic BD50 (which looked corking in previews,for the price), plus the new Pioneers, Denons, Sonys....

The Panasonic BD30 is a great piece of kit and will surely come down in price with the introduction of the BD50.
