blu rays not worth buying

Watched "Half Blood Prince" last night and thought the PQ was decidedly underwhelming ( a bit like the film itself). Mind you, I was never particularly impressed by the picture quality of the previous ones I saw at the cinema.

If you have the Half Blood Prince BD/digital/DVD combo version, are you sure that you didn't watch the DVD version - as I did, d'oh! - by mistake? IMHO, the BD looks lush - great detail, rich colours, faces look very 3D, with great contrast in the cave scene etc.

Definitely blu ray, but it was a rental copy from Blockbuster - don't know if that might make a difference.
