? blu ray surround sound system

Hi, i am interested in the Sony BDVE 300 HOME CINEMA 5.1 system, iv heard it today and am interested in buying it! What i would like to know is if you are just watching normal tv programes you wont get the same sound effect as when watching a film through the blu ray player? it just comes through as 2.1 Is that so??

Yes, standard definition viewing will pass through as 2 channel stereo.

Does the Sony not drop to pro-logic or dolby digital if fed SKY+HD when available?
