Hi all finally getting on the HD/Blu-ray wagon.Picking up my Sony HD tv on Saturday want a Blu-ray player to go with it.I've got a Yamaha 357 amp but it doesn't have hdmi, looking at the Sony BDP-S370 had a good review and the price is very good at the moment. The only problem is it doesn't have multi-channel out to use 5.1 audio for blu-ray sound.Been told at sony centre to use optical lead for sound. Is it really worth shelling out an extra £150 for a Panasonic DMP-BD85 for 8ch output or will an optical lead on the sony be more cost effective.Don't really want to go over the £200 mark. All info appreciated. Many Thanks. Alan.

The optical connection on the 370 will only give standard Dolby & DTS off the disc, why not look at the Sony BDPS760, it has analogue outs and is available for £169 at ask direct.
