I'm looking to get a top blu ray player to partner with my ageing ( but well loved) pioneer VSA-AX10Ai amp which can't decode the new dolby & DTS-HD. I have around £1400. Been using a sony ps3 with my kuro 500A but wish to have a better sound experience.

Can you recommend a good blu ray player

Hi how about Panny BDMP85 or LGBD390 which I have just got myself to go with my ageing yamaha rxv2400 and I'm very pleased. I find if just picks out the finer details with precision on the HD AUDIO tracks. If you have £1400 how about a new amp plus BD player??

Yes your amp needs to have the multi ch inputs, mine has 6 however I can use 8 if needed by using the other 2 on pre outs or something. I use my 6 channel to run 5.1 and it's great. I do not know your amp so could not tell if you have what is needed.

Hi

Paul recommended me the panny but luckily I was fortunately able to try both at home, the other being the LG on my plasma the LG gave a better picture IMO and sound I really could not tell. However they do day sonically the panny is better!

Let the forum know what you decide :)
