JimmyJimmy, IMHO buying the Pioneer, a top of the range player without also having a top of the range telly makes little sense - unless you are looking to upgrade the telly at a later stage. Getting a player half that price should not give you an inferior PQ.

Don't get too hung up on specs, JimmyJimmy. We've just been testing 42in flatscreens, and have clearly seen that the best HD Ready sets can better Full HD sets, even when playing 1080p, 24fps content....

But what if the screen won't accept a 1080P/24fps signal? Most reviews for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD decks say they suffer with motion unless set at 1080p/24fps but dvd does not suffer with motion and that is at a maximum of 576p, so this would be distractive whilst watching a movie so are people with a non 1080p/24pfs set better off sticking with dvd?
