Hardly a surprise when you consider the price of BD over DVD, in some cases 4 times the price (check "Blade Runner" in HMV, for example).

There's a big demand for the players, but until/unless the price significantly falls only a limited demand for the discs.

I've had my BD player for just over a week and have very selectively purchased just 2 discs (£25 for 2, seperately would have totalled £30), and will only purchase when I have researched that BD will offer a significant improvement over DVD.

'Call me Ishmael..' After goodness knows how many years of hype and let downs the Neil Young Archives vol 1 are finally out - only to discover they're best on a format I don't have (as they can be updated with new tracks using the BD 'live' function)!

My years of desire to buy this damn thing is going to cost me upwards of £600 now (archives box set ~£200; BD player ~£200; DAC ~£200). Got the DAC now the rest... I'll be mightily annoyed if it goes the way of Betamax! For the meantime the tracks are on Spotify, so that'll have to do. '...Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale'
