Cherry.OK, just as with my stuff, it would look better if it all matched, but we're not in the ideal world when it comes to hifi.
Nice rack though.....Mrs.

Correct. My thoughts entirely. That actually works in a way two matching and one different wouldn't!

You know when you stack grapes, apples, pears and oranges in a bowl, there's a fusion of colours and there's some artistic value both visually and structurally.Correct. My thoughts entirely.
Could likely get away with two matching if they were top and bottom and looked similar, but I decided to go for completely different rather than trying o match. I think it works.
Two speakers too, which are the same brand but don't match either.

Black only for me.From the responses to a recent post I got the impression most people on here don't really care about the visual aesthetics of their systems. Some even downright dislike the look of HiFi equipment. I was surprised having read lots of comments in the past about people not buying something because of how it looks, or the colour of it. For me sound comes first, but I don't want an eyesore in my room.
So I thought I would post a poll for fun and see if people really don't care.
If you were starting again with a new system, assuming your chosen components come with colour options, which would you choose?
Agree with not matching - though I considered a silver turntable on the top of a thick white shelf with the other components below being black. I don't think it would have looked too bad.If I had to pick one it would be matte black but more important, don’t mix with silver components. Ideally, for aesthetics, a one brand system, tucked out of sight or integrated into a nice book wall or a non Hifi piece of furniture. Unfortunately mine currently resides in a rack and I intensely dislike it. Showing off Hifi is a bit like wearing heavily branded clothing.
Agree with Andy - that actually looks quite nice.
I would have agreed with you in the past, but have black for my surround system and really like them.Speakers have to be in wood.
Nah, black is so Victorian..... 🙂Agree, but still ideally in black for me: natural or piano black.
Perhaps, but I doubt she would laugh at any of my pub jokes either......
