Big thank you and one last quick question

Just wanted to say thankyou to everyone who aswered by dumb and silly questions over the past week. Today i bought the below to go with my Sony KDL-40X3500

Yamaha DSP AX863SE

KEF KHT 2005.3

Panasonic DMP-BD55

2 X Van Den Hul HDMI Flat - cables

(and also a Panasonic TH-37PX8OB for my office and where the kids can watch DVD's and play their Playstation)

Just one more quick question - i want to order the Chord Co. Carnival Silver Screen speakers wires, but i have no idea how many i need for the speakers i bought and where to get them from.

I don't really follow that. 20 metres by the mtr is £108. Yet 15 mtrs of terminated pair is £192

Whats the difference?

if you buy pre-terminated lengths your also paying for the terminations, obviously if you just buy it buy the metre all your getting is the cable

Are, now i'm following. Still having problems working out how much i need as im not sure how far/close the speakers i have bought should be to the tv/amp etc.

Look like i may end up spending £250 on cables

oh, should have mentioned that if your buying terminated pairs your getting two cables so if you buy a 15m terminated pair your actually getting 30m of cable. if you want to keep the cost down you could do without the terminations and just use the bare wire ends of the cable to connect to your amp and speakers

Does it sound about right that for two HDMI cables, subwoofer cable and the speaker cables comes to just under £400

(seems like a lot)

without knowing what cables your buying an how much speaker cable your going to be using it's hard to say, but its possible yes, it can cost a lot especially with surround sound set ups due to the amount of speakers and the long cable lengths fo the rear speakers
