I've decided to pretty much change most of my equipment apart from my speakers but I have a dilemma I hope someone can help me with, I have alot of dvd's I am definately going to buy the new panasonic blu ray player DMP-BD30 but is it better at upscaling standard dvd's compared to the Toshiba HD-EP35 or would i benefit from hunting down a HD-EP35 and intergrating both into my system. My proposed new system consists of, Panasonic TH-42/46PZ85B (awaiting review) or the Pioneer, Onkyo 606 (awaiting release !!) Panasonic BD-30 Toshiba HD-EP35 ?? Acoustic Energy Evo 3B'S Any advice would be great Stu

I have both. No difference that I can see and the BD30 is much faster in operation. Save your cash, unless you want to watch HD-DVD of course :)

I wouldn't get the EP35, stick with the BD30 for DVD and put the money towards something else (the BD50?). The EP35 does take an age to boot and load compared to the BD30, but it's not something that bothers me, just was worth commenting on.

The EP35 remains a great machine for up-scaling, but when placed alongside a BD30, it's only really obviously useful for HD-DVD.
