Best Way To Connect Subwoofer To Receiver?

Hi,

If you were connecting an active subwoofer to a receiver with a sub pre-out, but also had spear phono out's what would be the best connection to use? Is there any difference in strength of signal?

When u mean phone outs do u mean the record out.. Use the dedicated sub output from your reciever, anything other than that could damage ur sub or amp or both. Unless ur looking to use line level direct from amp to sub. But from my experience always better to use the sub preout from your av amp. If your av amp has two sub outputs then it will not matter which one you use. usaully the manual should tell which one to use. You can always go into the menu & add volume gain to the sub output either from the speaker level output or from the sub woofer adjustment section.

That was helpful, thought it would be best but wern't sure if there was more power to be had from the spare speaker ports (phono). But ultimately not worth damaging the amp. thanks mate
