No gimmicks, non OLED.

Must be wall mountable, 55 inch class UHD TV.

I assume these days itvwill be HDR almost by default, but that's not a priority.

It must, however, be a "smart" wifi equipped unit for Netflix, Hulu and HBO Now, etc.

This is for our second house that we rent out on airbnb.com and I will be screwing it to the wall so it stays there.

Mainstream brands only please.

Thanks for that. I'm still wary of anything lg. I think they should rename themselves gliyeitltw (good luck if you expect it to last the warranty).

I bought one of their TVs in 2009 and it lasted two weeks!

look at a Sony tv 5 years warranty very good build quality , excellent picture , sounds good and currently I am using mine without a sound bar and the tv is loud without one .

and there some really good deals around on the Sony tvs as I looked at the 55" myself but thought it maybe to big for us but I now think It would of been ok as my 49" looks the same size as my old sharp tv but it's the basal on the sharp that made that look big .

the Sony is only about 1" thick which is amazing considering my old sharp was built like a tank .

yeah Im wary of LG and always have had top brands when it came down to he TV. I chose the LG because it had come down in half the price, and it's for our games room/conservatory for Xbox, the wife's exercise videos etc and it came with a 5 year warranty. So cheap as chips with all the bells and whistles.

its a got a good picture and amazon prime whatching GT in 4k with their HDR is pretty good pic quality!
