Best software for converting FLAC to MP3???

I have ripped my CD collection in both FLAC and WMA Lossless (I have 2 TB of hard drive capacity so plenty of space). I need to convert my music to a compressed format for use over DLNA to my blu ray player (Sony BDP-S570) and also for use on my phone (HTC Desire Z). What is the best format to convert to and what is the best software for carrying out the conversion?

Mediamonkey is free, has a good interface and does it all for me
