i have improved the picture quite a bit , got calibration settings online , still not convinced though , ah sure its early days , the blacks are good , but detail in dark scenes isnt plasma quality , absolutely no clouding , which is great , coming from a panasonic , which has few settings to play with , this sammy is mind boggling , getting there though , motion is fine , colour is very good , perhaps i was expecting too much , its no kuro , nor was my plasma , gonna spin "30 days of night" now on bluray , check out those blacks , if im still not convinced ill be happy with this tv by lunchtime tmw , my budget will be broken , and a 46inch g10 will be sat in front of me ...

the 100 hz is good but not as good as the w5500.the blacks are more like blues.but overall its a good set.ive seen B650 and B7000 and B8000 showqing the same movies side by side and....I prefer the B650 image wich seems more natural, altough a little less punchy

well , having had a good few hours now to suss this thing out , it seems the picture can be as good or bad as you want it to be , the 100hz has various settings in itself , get them wrong and it just looks plain weird , simply selecting clear , as most reviews suggest , is perfect to my eyes , at least for movies and general tv , ill check out the footie over the weekend ..

i find the movie preset more natural , plasma like , and seemingly best with sd , selecting natural , and turning down the backlight a tad can give a real punchy look when viewing hd , daylight or bright scenes really sparkle , the usual trade off is dark scenes show a little less detail ..

the option to increase black levels only really makes sense for really sharp animated hd , where you wouldnt notice black crush as much , dialling it in for movies or tv does give deeper blacks , but again , at the expense of detail , so i leave the black enhancer off ..

sd really looks quite good , skin tones look real , not waxy , as long as movie mode is selected , or maybe natural , for high quality sd , bbc , ch4 ch5 etc , any brighter and sd looks a bit cartoonish ..

bluray and bbc hd look very very good , pin sharp , with as much , if not more detail than ive seen on any tv bar the kuro and samsungs led tvs , this actally improved after i installed an update from samsungs website , i dont know what it was , but it helped , the strange thing for me was , when watching various blurays on movie setting , i felt i wanted to switch to natural to get a bit more vibrancy , the downside again being less detail in the darker scenes ( still quite watchable though) i guess this is why the kuro is so good , you get the best detail and vibrancy and the best detail in dark scenes ..

colour is also very good to my eyes , i used the calibrated settings i found online for things like white balance , gamma , custom colours , as i dont have a clue about them

sound is poor , but i knew it would be , a soundbar is on the horizen , to sum up , i think this is a very nice tv , for 1000euros im happy , would i be happier with a g10 ? maybe not as much as i first thought ...
