Best mp3 player around?

It is able to support non DRM AAC files. AAC is not an Apple format, funnily enough Sony were part of its inception, Apple just popularised it (sounds familiar :) )

Perhaps late in the day now, but at home we have 2 mp3 players. A 5th Gen iPod classic (my better halfs) and my Creative xfi (1st series).

In SQ terms it is no contest. The Creative is far superior, even the supplied earphones are pretty good (and better than a pair of Sennheiser earbuds I have).

Loading the iPod is a mare. The Creative I plug in and it acts like a HDD, so I organise it in folders and drag and drop. The iPod will not let you do this.

One plus tho of the iPod is there are a HUGE amount of dedicated docks available.

thanks guys :) ....and the last thing to double check: ive been advised the itunes has been DRM free since 2010 - do you guys agree with this? otherwise the sony is out as ive been downloading from start of 2010 via itunes cheers dan

hi guys,

just thought id report that my new sony a845 sounds GREAT with my bose IE2s :)

SO much better than my old 3rd gen nano - assume it puts out more power as well as better sq
