MY ROOM IS 5M x 3M I HAVE DENOM 1940 DVD PLAYSTATION 3 AND VIRGIN HD. I HAVE £1500 BUDGET CAN YOU SUGGEST SOME AMPLIFIERS AND SPEAKERS WITHIN MY BUDGET. CHEERS ROB

Style speakers or can you go big box traditional speakers? Also, is this just for movies, or would music playback be important too?

I WOULD PREFER TRADITIONAL SPEAKERS AND WOULD LIKE TO PLAY MUSIC. THANKS ROB

In which case I'd go for something like the Monitor Audio Bronze BR2 or Wharfedale Diamond 9.1AV or Tannoy Mercury F1 speaker packages (there's reviews for each on this site) coupled probably with the Yamaha DSP-AX863SE or the Sony STR-DA2400ES. Don't forget to budget for a decent pair of stands for the speakers and cables to hook them all up.
Obviously an audition is recommended prior to purchase!

Thanks Professor. I've decided to go with the Tannoy Mercury F1 speaker package which I can get from richer sounds much cheaper. Can I use the Tannoy TS10 Subwoofer instead of the TS12.

You can, I haven't heard it in action to know if it would be detriment to the sound or not though I'm afraid. I'm pretty sure Richer Sounds offers a 7 day money back offer so you can always take the sub back if it isn't working and swap it out for the TS12.
