Best headphones for London underground?

I have Bose and Sony headphones. If you are on the London underground then definitely get the Sony and not the Bose. The Bose performs relatively poorly as a protection against the noise and under stress from the rail noise there is crackling from the headphones.

The crackling seems consistently the case on the east stretch of the central line.

Anyone else have same experience?

The noise of the tube is just too much for noise cancellation to deal with, especially that nasty nails on a blackboard high pitched whine when the wheels grind against the track. Ear defenders might work on top of some IEM’s. The crackling is probably Bluetooth interference if it always happens in the same location.

The Sony ones work fine. Never any issues in the central line.

Re the Bose they crackle only at the worst spot on the journey where the screeching is worst so I think it's just the ANC unable to cope and not bt issues. Anyway the Sony never have a problem.
