Best Floorstanders Under £1000?

Looked up the Arcam and Pioneer and must admit that combined with other comments that the amp may be the limiting factor has thrown me a bit as to which way to go.

Yes you are already doing so - that's the point of that Pioneer and Arcam. The 'music' is a priority. They were also 2k GBP when new and will drive anything.

Not sure I understand the 4ohm comments above - are all new sub-1000 GBP speakers 4ohm? Even more of a reason to buy decent 2nd-hand speakers if so.

Just thought I'd finish this off with a conclusion, I've just ordered an ex-display pair of Monitor Audio Silver 300's from Peter Tyson for £1098 which will arrive on Tuesday .... can't wait
