Best DVD/Blue Ray Player for Samsung UE46B8000

I have a Samsung UE46B8000 and want to upgrade my DVD player. I also have a PS3. I play DVD's more than Blue Rays. I have three q's:

1) Will a dedicated player provide significantly better quality DVD playback compared to the PS3?

2) If it will, any recommendations. I was thinking of the Sony BDP-S760

3) I do have some lip synch issues. Are there any dedicated players that have an audio adjustment to overcome this?

A standalone player will definitely improve over the PS3 and, though I haven't seen it personally, WHF's review says the Sony BDP-S760 "produces a punchy, accurately drawn image" with DVDs.

i changed from a ps3 to a sony bds363 , the improvement in blu-ray performance was small , if any , but i definately think its better at upscaling dvds , perhaps the 760 will be a little better again...
