Best AV amp to partner Bose Acoustimass 15 speaker system ?

I have an existing Bose Acoustimass 15 speaker system (which I love, and have no intention of replacing) but do need a new AV amplifier. I presently have a Yamaha DSP A595A which has served me well, but is now seriously faulty and needs replacing. New amp will be used almost exclusively for TV and films, as I have another system for Hi Fi.

The new amp will be partnered with a new (probably Panasonic) LCD TV and my wife and I like the Yamaha sound, but we are capable of being persuaded towards other brands. Budget to suit.

Room is in an old cottage, about 13' square with low beamed ceiling, with the sub unit up in the inglenook.

Suggestions please.

Have Denon 3802 which is an old amp but know Denon partners well with Bose.

Alas no hd inputs so will replace with pioneer lx 82/83 unless someone else can advise me also in the right direction.

If you don't want anything too bulky, you could look at the Marantz 1501, otherwise the new range of Yamaha's are extremely strong. Take a look at the RXV667 or RXV1067 if you want something a little more higher end.

David, thanks.

I was indeed contemplating any of the Yamaha RXV 667, 1067 or 2067, but I have two problems. First is depth to fit into my enclosure, as they are all very deep, and second how much do I need to spend to get the best out of the Acoustimass 15 system - without overspending.

Seen the 367 yamaha with the acoustimass 15 ..so the 667 wich has the whole specs you can get today, must be the right amp. and If you like the yamaha sound..

I'd go with 1067. The 2067 will be very similar in many ways to the 1067, so if you felt like going for that one, it won't let you down either.

David, as I'm not interested in 3D would a Yamaha Z7 be an alternative solution ?

The Bose are no where near good enough to partner with the Z7, stick to something like David from Frank Harvey suggested.

I would say that the Z7 is a little overkill for the Bose, but it is one hell of an amp

I suppose for a little more than the 1067, it'd be worth having as a longer term investment.
